Our Gorgeous puppies
At Golden Mags, our puppies are needy, high-maintenance, clingy, spoiled, and have a lot of attitude! This is because our puppies live inside and take over our home and our lives – and we gladly let them. They are constantly cuddled, sung to, and talked to. The puppies are spoiled with every type of toy imaginable to keep them entertained. Our puppies absolutely love to play outside in the grass. They sleep inside and run in and out whenever they please all day long. Our puppies eat us out of house and home and have healthy appetites. Our puppies know nothing but love from the moment they are born.
Our puppies are a very big part of our lives. It’s such a happy, busy and emotional time for us to have the puppies, teach our puppies and we take finding them perfect forever homes very seriously.
We have thoroughly studied many breeding and puppy programs and have implemented many aspects of them into our breeding practice. We use many enrichment methods, such as ENS, different noise desensitisation, socialisation, early training, and toilet training. The puppies’ very first weeks are critical; they can shape their behaviour, emotions, and intelligence for the rest of their lives.
The puppies are born and they are watched 24/7. They are weighed daily, kissed, and cuddled constantly.
ENS: When the puppies are a few days old, we begin neurological stimulation, which has observed benefits: stronger heartbeats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, and greater resistance to disease.
We also start puppy massages.
This gentle practice offers numerous benefits, including decreased stress levels, enhanced circulation, improved blood flow, and, of course, the wonderful opportunity to bond with our adorable puppies.
The puppies are slowly introduced to all different types of toys and objects.
They love their new toys, sitting on them, sleeping on them, and chewing on them.
We introduce toys to the puppies at this age so that they can slowly learn about new textures and movements by playing with them
We introduce the puppies to various noises from the day they are born.
We play different YouTube clips of heavy rain, light thunder, loud storms, fireworks, and traffic noises.
By exposing them to these sounds at a young age, the puppies are less likely to be afraid of them as they grow older.
Our puppy gym has quickly become a favourite, particularly for helping the puppies become more confident.
The puppy gym is a wonderful way to introduce the puppies to the sights, sounds, touch and motion they will experience during their lives.
We recommend that when out for a walk to wear a harness.
A harness gives extra security knowing that it is near impossible for them to slip out of it, also if they are a little excited you don't have to worry about tugging on their necks.
Our puppies love trying new things and the first time wearing a harness they have so much fun. They run around with them on so they can get used to the feeling of one with each other’s company for support.
Socialisation is very important for puppies. There is a ‘critical socialisation period’ All the things that the puppies are introduced to can help shape and influence the adult Goldens that they will become. Providing plenty of socialisation and exposure to different environments/animals help our puppies grow into a well-adjusted adult that relates well to other dogs, other animals and people.
Our Puppies are introduced to our cats, our goats, our lambs, our ponies, our donkeys and of course our other Goldens.
We regularly take the puppies on short car trips to our charming local towns, each trip is specifically designed to help them adapt to the the sensation of riding in a car.
During these outings, we make stops at parks and pet-friendly cafes, allowing the puppies to encountering a diverse array of people and other pets. The experience introduces the puppies to the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
These brief adventures are as much about socialization as they are about exploration, helping the puppies build confidence and comfort in unfamiliar environments. Each trip is filled with tail wags, big smiles, and the joy of discovering what lies beyond their familiar surroundings.
Our puppies are not just pets; they're part of the family. They adore festive occasions, especially Christmas, and when the temperature dips, they cozy up in warmer clothing, which is an irresistibly cute sight. Their love for water is obvious as they eagerly splash around in water bowls and doggy pools.
But what truly makes them special is their charm. Our puppies are not just delightful companions; they're charming in a way that warms the hearts of everyone they meet. They are also genuinely cool pups that radiate awesomeness.
Golden Mags has been dedicated to breeding Golden Retrievers for over 20 years. Our journey began with the sheer joy and laughter our first litter of puppies brought into our lives. The experience of nurturing healthy, happy pups not only filled our hearts with love but also inspired us to continue this rewarding endeavor.
We chose to breed Golden Retrievers because we truly believe in the transformative power of their companionship. There’s something incredibly special about the love and loyalty these dogs provide, and we want everyone to experience this joy at least once in their lifetime.
One of the most fulfilling aspects is the connections we make with the new owners of our puppies. We treasure receiving updates through cards, emails, and photos that showcase the puppies as they grow and thrive in their new homes. These moments foster lifelong friendships. Each puppy is raised with love and care.
